In light of the week of freezing temperatures we have had in the South, I thought I would share a classical piece that runs closely to my heart.
Years ago, back when I was taking violin lessons in college, I found myself studying to classical and movie soundtracks to help my focus. During this time period, I would occasionally find new artists that I found myself drawn to.
Nicola Benedetti was one of them.
This video was the first I saw of hers.
Before there was Chillhop or House music driving me to my next imaginative journey, there was classical music.
I remember one particular Christmas my mom got us all Nutcracker ballet tickets in Atlanta. We drove three hours in the snow and ice on a backroad (without the proper car attire) to go see it.
We drove slow and the snow was still falling and layered thick on the ground. The whole ride I put on classical music and drifted away into another land. It was beautiful. Ever since then when I see snow, I think of classical music. It's almost like every snowflake has it's own unique song and story.
So, I present to you, ladies and gentleman, Nicola Benedetti's version of the "Tango",
